Nashville Business Journal: Healthcare giant taps Nashville Yards for new headquarters
A healthcare giant working under the code name “Project Iris” landed on a multi-billion dollar downtown Nashville development for its new headquarters.
Radiology Partners signed a lease in Nashville Yards’ creative office building for its new Music City headquarters, according to a new permit filing.
The radiology services provider announced a year ago it was relocating its headquarters from California to Nashville, alongside its technology services division, Mosaic Clinical Technologies. The company did not share a location for its Nashville office at the time.
A permit was issued this month for the build out of just over 26,000 square feet of space in the Nashville Yards office building for a tenant referred to as “Project Iris.” Renderings included in the permit filing indicate that Radiology Partners is behind the lease; a representative for Radiology Partners and Nashville Yards confirmed to the Business Journal that the healthcare firm is the tenant taking over the space.
“Nashville is the country’s most important healthcare hub and one of the only places in the country where healthcare and technology are converging at this scale, which makes it the ideal home for our headquarters,” Rich Whitney, chairman and CEO of Radiology Partners, said in a statement to the Business Journal.
Radiology Partners is taking over more than half of the sixth floor of the office building at 955 Church St., also known as the Creative Artists Agency building, according to Metro records. Three permits were issued for the buildout of the new office space, with a construction value of $5.4 million, according to a representative for Radiology Partners.
Plans include multiple open-office spaces, more than a dozen private offices, small and large conference rooms, a training room, as well as a patio. Nashville-based Gresham Smith is leading design for the new office, and Nebraska-based engineering firm Alvine is also involved in the buildout.
Radiology Partners bills itself as the largest physician-led and -owned radiology practice in the country, serving more than 3,400 hospitals and healthcare facilities in the U.S, according to a 2025 release announcing its headquarters relocation. The firm’s move bolsters Nashville’s status as a major health care hub with major entities like HCA Healthcare Inc., Community Health Systems Inc. and Vanderbilt University Medical Center all calling Music City home.

The Nashville Yards development opened last year and has since drawn in several high-profile restaurants, retailers and office tenants. Radiology Partners is joining Creative Artists Agency, Amazon Music and L-Acoustics, among others, in the Church Street building.
“Radiology Partners is at the forefront of technology-enabled healthcare in the United States,” Cary Mack, managing partner at Southwest Value Partners, said in a statement to the Business Journal. “They are an excellent addition to the growing community of industry-leading companies choosing to relocate to Nashville Yards, and we welcome them to the campus.”
Nashville Yards’ office space is quickly filling up, but there’s some hope for tenants wanting a space in the popular development. Southwest Value Partners is inching closer on plans to build a fifth office tower in the downtown development, which would rank among the largest in downtown Nashville.
