For the first time in decades, you can go to the movies in downtown Nashville.

Hooky opened to the public Wednesday, April 29, offering seven movie theaters, eight bowling lanes and an arcade. It's located in the Nashville Yards development at 931 Church St. The entertainment complex also includes a bar and restaurant, and the movie theaters come with the option to dine in.

Entry to the sports bar and restaurant area is free, and movie tickets are around $20 per person. Bowling starts at $30 to reserve a lane, plus around $4 for adult shoe rentals (more information on tickets and reservations is available online). Hooky Nashville is open from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The 15,000-square-foot arcade includes more than 48 games like electric shuffleboard and virtual darts. Two private event spaces are available.

"As a former downtown resident now living just across the Cumberland, I’m thrilled to bring cinema back to the heart of the city,” said Hooky Nashville General Manager Joshua Pemberton, in a news release. “For years, seeing a movie meant leaving downtown. This opening brings cinema back to the city center and fills a clear gap in the downtown entertainment mix.”

Hooky Entertainment leadership and representatives of the Nashville Yards development gathered on Tuesday, April 28 to celebrate the grand opening of the downtown business.

"We think it's going to make downtown living even better," said Chris Parker, chief operating officer of Southwest Value Partners, the developer of Nashville Yards.

Hooky first opened locations in Texas and now operates 18 locations across six states. It is one of several new businesses now open at the Nashville Yards development, which is home to hotel, condo and apartment buildings, offices and the Pinnacle music venue.

"This concept is amazing," said Rita McDonald, vice president of member and investor relations at the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. "This whole facility is amazing, and we want to congratulate the entire Hooky team. Thank you for coming to Nashville, investing in this community and being a part of our growth."
