A global architecture firm secured a prime spot in Nashville Yards.
San Francisco-based Gensler signed a 12,500-square-foot lease at Nashville Yards for its new local office, according to a news release.
Gensler, which is one of the largest architecture firms in the world, is establishing its new office at the base of Nashville Yards’ The Everett residential tower at the corner of 10th Street and Commerce Street, according to the release.
The firm’s local office was previously located in The Frost Building, at 1616 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. Southwest Value Partners, the developer of Nashville Yards, sold The Frost Building earlier this year to Ohio-based GBX Group LLC.
“Gensler professionals are among the most talented architects and designers in the world, and we are thrilled that through their discerning eyes for excellence, they selected Nashville Yards as their home in Nashville,” Cary Mack, managing partner at Southwest Value Partners, said in the release.
Gensler opened its Nashville office in August 2022 and has been involved in multiple major projects, including the design for Fifth + Broadway and offices for two of the city’s largest law firms.
The firm, which has 56 offices across the globe, has worked with Southwest Value Partners on several buildout projects in the Pinnacle Tower at Nashville Yards, as well as projects in Georgia and Arizona.
The architecture firm’s new Nashville Yards office will offer a flexible work setting to feel more like a boutique hospitality environment and will feature a café that can be converted into a bar or event venue.
“As workspace expectations continue to evolve, we have a unique opportunity to demonstrate our design philosophy in the realization of our own workplace,” Christopher Goggin, principal at Gensler, said in the release. “It is also extremely important for us to be centrally located and contributing to the energy and investment in Nashville’s developing downtown.”
The 19-acre Nashville Yards development opened earlier this year. The $1 billion project includes two Amazon towers, the Grand Hyatt, the Union Station hotel, the new Pinnacle tower, two residential towers, an entertainment district and more and is widely believed by real estate professionals to be shifting the epicenter of downtown.
Other notable office tenants at Nashville Yards include Pinnacle Financial Partners, Bass Berry & Sims, Creative Artists Agency and more.
