E-commerce giant to have presence in downtown building as interior build-out of its Tower II also looms

Southwest Value Partners announced Wednesday that Amazon is preparing to begin interior work in the coming weeks at the Nashville Yards Amazon Tower II and will lease space long-term at the mixed-use development’s Creative Artists Agency office building.

The build-out of the space within the 24-story Amazon Tower II, with an address of 201 Platform Way N., is expected to be completed and ready for occupancy in 2026, according to a press release.

Relatedly, Amazon has leased an entire floor in the 11-story Class A CAA building (see here), which is slated to open in the summer and target creative companies in the tech, entertainment, music, etc., sectors. Joining anchor tenant CAA in the building will be AEG Presents, Messina Touring, AXS and L-Acoustics, among others.

The release notes Amazon employees who eventually will work in the CAA building will represent various business functions, including those related to Amazon Music. The full-floor space will include a 3,000-square-foot outdoor terrace.

Amazon has not announced the number of employees expected to work from the CAA building space. Similarly, lease terms with Southwest Value Partners, which is co-based in San Diego and Nashville and serves as the master developer of downtown’s Nashville Yards, are not being disclosed.

The Seattle-based Amazon — which works within the e-commerce, cloud computing, online advertising, digital streaming and artificial intelligence spaces — began local operations in Amazon Tower I in mid-2021, with about 2,500 employees now working from the high-rise. The building sits adjacent to Amazon Tower II.

The announcement regarding the CAA space comes as Amazon preps to take 100,000 square feet of temporary space (via a sublease involving WeWork) in the Gulch’s Asurion Building, as Nashville Business Journal recently reported (read here).
