PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has officially moved into its new digs at Nashville Yards.

The move, which occurred March 31, nearly triples the firm’s previous space and came as a result of the firm more than doubling its headcount over the last five years, according to Kelly King, PwC Nashville office managing partner.

“We’ve been the beneficiaries of being able to maturate along with the city’s growth,” King said during a photo tour of the firm’s new office space.

The professional services firm’s move to the 19-acre development was first reported in February 2024 and King said the firm signed a 10-year, 30,119-square-foot lease of the entire 19th floor in the new Pinnacle tower.

With PwC coming up on the end of its previous 10-year lease for 10,750 square feet at the Pinnacle at Symphony Place, King said she was looking for a space that allowed for collaboration and was more than just an office building.

“One of the things that we really love about Nashville Yards is that we feel like it’s a multipurpose space where there’s restaurants, retail, green space,” she said. “There’s a movie theater, the Pinnacle venue is here. It just allows us to live and work in a space. I don’t think there’s anything else like this in Nashville. At PwC, we’ve seen these types of spaces in other cities and it worked really well for the way that we want to collaborate with our clients and community, so that was one of our big decision factors here.”

King said conversations with Southwest Value Partners, the development firm bringing Nashville Yards to life, began two years ago. But Nashville Yards wasn’t on the firm’s radar at first.

According to King, that was partly due to the development not being out of ground yet but after several community leaders referenced the new Pinnacle tower as a space to explore, King saw it as an opportunity.

“What drew us to it is that we really felt like there was nothing of its kind in Nashville that existed in terms of the multi-use space,” King said. “We wanted a place where our people felt like when they came to work, that they could walk and have options around eating, outdoor space. We also just loved the concept of having ways to entertain our clients.”

King added: “Where we were downtown, there wasn’t a lot of walkability to restaurants, and there was no green space at all, and that was something that was really important to us.”

In addition to occupying the 19th floor, King said the firm also has access to an entertainment space on the second floor and there’s a gym that’s available for its employees.

In addition to PwC, Symphony Place’s two largest tenants Pinnacle Financial Partners and law firm Bass, Berry & Sims PLC, announced they were relocating their headquarters to Nashville Yards in 2021. Industrious, a New York-based coworking company, is the latest office tenant revealed for the new Pinnacle tower.

PwC has over 400 Nashville employees today, and according to King, PwC has a hybrid work model, where the company encourages employees to be in person at least 50% of the time.

“Our people are our greatest asset,” King said. “As we compared the different spaces that we were looking at, this is one that we thought allowed us to have customizations, collaboration and innovation.”
